Dr Lesley Ann Smallman

Dr Lesley Ann Smallman studied Medicine at the University of Birmingham (MBChB with Honours, 1978) and then trained as a Pathologist (FRCPath 1985). She was Senior Lecturer at the University of Birmingham (1985-1995) and then Consultant at Worcestershire and Gloucestershire NHS Trusts, retiring in 2011.

She gained a Masters in Medical Law (LLM) from Cardiff University in 2001 and a Graduate Diploma in Law (Conversion Course) (GDL) in 2005, becoming a part-time Lecturer in Law at Worcester College of Technology (2005-2012). She was also Medical Adviser for Weightman-Vizards, Solicitors (NHS Resolution Legal Panel) (2001-2004).

She has worked for the Ministry of Justice (HM Courts and Tribunals Service – Social Entitlement Chamber) since 2007 and is also Principal Medical Referee at Worcester Crematorium, Deputy Medical Referee at Redditch Crematorium and a trained Medical Examiner (MRCPath ME).
